News

Goodness gracious it has been a while!  Happy to report however that some wonderful things have happened and it has definitely been a busy year so far…  In short we have officially become a new group with a new name: The Romanovs.  We are extremely proud of our name, we think it’s swell, snappy and suits us just fine.  We are currently finishing up a re-mixed version of our album “…and the moon was hungry…” with two new tracks.  We can’t wait to hear your thoughts, please drop by the forum and let us know.  This album has been licensed to a label in Japan, where we will hopefully be traveling to promote in the early fall.

In other Romanov news, Morgan has had the privilege of writing and recording with the French group M83.  Their album will be released sometime in the near future and she will happily be playing keys and singing with them as they make their way through Europe and the States.

Please check in soon for more news…  We promise we’ll be better.

Hello lusty readers...  I have been honored by another appreciation site by a very lovely young man named Luc (the oh so mysterious Luc) who resides in France...  I have never met Luc, but this is the second site on the net where a community of people can come together to contribute their thoughts and support to the music I try to bring to you and yours.  As you probably all know the lovely Miss Nedda Shishegar started the first. (click here to visit)

Luc's site can be found at kopydlow.net/morgan.  The fact that people seem to love what we're doing enough to dedicate time and support like this is just an incredible thing If you'd like to connect with others who love the music, I highly suggest visiting these sites.

Merci Luc!  T'es merveilleux!  (You too Miss Nedda!)

Also, as my web people seem to be a little pre-occupied, I have decided to encourage people to email me their merchandise requests as i've had so many questions about the shop recently....  My merch is as follows:

-buttons (crow logo)

-t-shirts (with crow logo same as on cd)

-doll heads on ribbons for your rear view mirror

-cigar boxes with custom collage by yours truly

-stickers

-custom stationary

Just email me and I'll be happy to send you what your little hearts desire. Finally, i hope to see those of you in town at our fiasco tomorrow at the Mint!

Bisoux...

Hello all, it has been a while but finally some newsworthy fare...  We have been added to yet another compilation disk being released through a company in Canada.  I was just notified a couple of days ago and I will let you know the details as they arrive at my doorstep...

Perhaps even more important than the CD however, is the fact that we were the number one most requested band on Electric Eye Radio last week!  This station reaches over 3 million listeners and after particiapating in a live interview, Ed Glass the host played the entire record.  We immediately shot to number one and were quite shocked I must say.  Thank you for listening those of you that did, and I'm sure there will be more to report soon with these lovely turn of events...

Also, don't forget that we have two shows coming up in March on the 15th and 29th both at The Mint in Hollywood on Pico Blvd.  Visit www.themintla.com  for directions and more information...

Happy New Year!  Some fun was had over the holidays...  Wes and I went to Italy and played some VERY accoustic shows at a local venue in the town of Citta Della Pieve, and Wes and Paul's piano trio performed in an event organized by the NEA.

We have at least three or four shows coming up over the next two months, so please check the calendar section often.  The shop should be up in the next week where I am selling a variety of handmade merch, but the cd is ONLY available through www.cdbaby.com

Finally, the LP was reviewed by www.smother.net and was given an editor's pick! I also contributed to a compilation CD entitled "Undercovers: Smash Hits Vol I" on which I performed a version (my version) of Simon and Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair".  You can check this out as well on www.cdbaby.com

The new full length LP “…and the moon was hungry…” is finally finished and will soon be available for purchase on www.cdbaby.com and through the store section of this site. Paul and Wes contributed to three of the new tunes in the studio, while Randy and Dan played on the two live songs at the end of the disc.

To accompany the independent release of this album we have landed a supporting slot on the West coast leg of the current Veruca Salt tour. These promise to be amazing recitals with bands such as The Lovemakers, so be sure to check the calendar section for dates and venues…

Finally, if any of you are fans of the Harry Potter series I am happy to say that I landed the job of performing the vocals for the trailer of the upcoming film. (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) Unfortunately it was not used for the domestic trailer, (hence you will not hear me in theaters in the states) however the trailer is for all international usage and can be easily found on-line.
